About Energiot
Energiot is a Barcelona-based cleantech startup, founded in 2017 as a spin-off of the Institute of Microelectronics of Barcelona (IMB-CNM, CSIC), that develops self-powered IoT sensors for digitalising electrical grids. Its proprietary piezoelectric technology harvests energy directly from power lines, so the sensors run without batteries or periodic maintenance while feeding real-time monitoring and Dynamic Line Rating data to grid operators. The company sells the hardware alongside recurring Data-as-a-Service and Software-as-a-Service offerings and works with tier-one utilities across Europe including Iberdrola, Red Electrica de Espana, Enel, Elia and Alliander.
