About Vertoro
Vertoro is a Dutch cleantech company, spun out in 2017 of a Brightlands Chemelot Campus public-private partnership, that converts plant-based and woody biomass residues into a stable renewable crude oil. Its catalyst-free, low-pressure and low-temperature process yields crude lignin oil (CLO) and crude sugar oil that can be refined into low-carbon marine fuels, sustainable aviation fuel and bio-based chemicals using existing refinery infrastructure. The company runs a demonstration plant in Geleen, Netherlands, and is preparing commercial deployment via a licensing model with partners including Raizen.
