H2SITE is a Bilbao-based industrial scaleup, spun out of Tecnalia and Engie, that builds membrane-reactor technology to produce and separate high-purity hydrogen on site. Its integrated reactors crack easy-to-transport carriers such as ammonia and methanol into fuel-cell-grade hydrogen, tackling the cost and difficulty of moving hydrogen. With over 50,000 operating hours on its reactors and European manufacturing of palladium-based membranes, the company is moving from technology validation to large-scale industrial deployment across energy and hard-to-abate sectors.
